WOW! I just happened upon a new sport called “Parkour” and watched a bunch of You Tube videos on it. These guys are nuts! Amazing quickness, coordination and agility to be able to do this! It’s also absolutely insane and I’m not real sure what the point of it is…. but hey it’s fun to watch!
From what I can tell, it looks like a European sport with French origin, and it seems to have been around a while – I just have not heard of it until now. Totally cool, check it out!

Post workout nutrition is the one time that will make or break your efforts when it comes to making real progress in your fitness and bodybuilding goals. Catabolic hormones are surging and anabolic hormones are surpressed, you’re fatigued and need energy, so how do you reverse these variables? With a post workout shake, that’s how! There are a couple of different methods, but the main concept is the same – simple carbohydrates and a fast digesting whey protein to begin with. Glucose is recommended (over sucrose, fructose etc) for the carb source and Whey protein for the protein. Whey isolate that is hydrolyzed would be optimal as far as quality and speed of digestion. Along with these mainstays, taking other supplements after your workout will faciliate their uptake and usage because the body has been depleted. A multivitamin, creatine, glutamine, BCAA’s etc can all be taken with the shake and shuttled into the muscles with the help of the simple carbohydrates.
Now, most people have never heard of having something like this after a workout and many think it is unnecessary. However, if you invest the effort, I promise this will pay off in huge dividends towards your physique goals.
There are slightly different variation of this protocol that I have found to work even better and here it is with exact product recommendations as well….
1 hour before your workout, eat a complex carbohydrate and lean protein. (minimize fat consumption here). A blow of oatmeal and can of tuna is a great example. Then, 15 minutes before you hit the weights, take some Essential Amino Acids (EAA’s). I recommend Champion Nutrition’s Amino Acid Shooter for this, and it tastes fantastic to boot!
During your workout, drink only water. Immediately when you are done with the workout, have a shake with 60g Waxy Maize Starch with glutamine and creatine. (Waxy Maize is sold under the name “Vitargo” however it is expensive, so I recommend buying from http://www.TrueProtein.com, it is the same product and is much much less expensive.) Then, wait 20 minutes, and consume a whey protein isolate shake. (I like Isoflex by Allmax Nutrition) or any of the Isolates sold on TrueProtein.com 1 hour after finishing that, eat a whole food meal consisting of a quality protein, complex carbohydrate, vegetable and healthy fat source. (Chicken, broccoli, flax oil and sweet potato) Do that after your next intense weight training workout and I guarantee you will recover and grow faster than you ever thought was possible!

I’ve just come across Hakia – a new web search engine still in beta mode. It looks like it’s got some cool things about it to make it stand out. I’ll post some info about Hakia.com straight off their website and put a search box here to let you try it for yourself. Keep in mind, they are still in beta, so if there are quirks, forgive them and try again next month.
“ About us
Hakia is building the Web’s new “meaning-based” (semantic) search engine with the sole purpose of improving search relevancy and interactivity, pushing the current boundaries of Web search. The benefits to the end user are search efficiency, richness of information, and time savings.
The basic promise is to bring search results by meaning match – similar to the human brain’s cognitive skills – rather than by the mere occurrence (or popularity) of search terms. hakia’s new technology is a radical departure from the conventional indexing approach, because indexing has severe limitations to handle full-scale semantic search.
hakia’s capabilities will appeal to all Web searchers – especially those engaged in research on knowledge intensive subjects, such as medicine, law, finance, science, and literature.
The mission of hakia is the commitment to search for better search.“

Healthy choices coming to vending machines
Local facilities will have healthy choices
Sunday August 26, 2007
The demand for healthy food choices has reached Camrose’s public facilities, and city council is listening.
At their Aug. 13 meeting, council voted to support healthy options vending at the new facility and existing facilities, like the Aquatic Centre. Paul Nielsen of Camrose Leisure Services made a presentation to council outlining plans and reasons for adding another dimension to the centre’s menu.
“We’re trying to stay on the leading edge of nutrition,” Nielsen said. “We’ve had a few inquiries from residents, parents especially, who don’t want to feed their children snacks laden with empty calories.”
With the guidance of nutritionists, Leisure Services is entering into negotiations with snack companies for healthier options.
Over the last year they’ve been dealing with Pepsi Co. to bring in some of their healthier drink options, like juice and water. A concept the company has latched onto.
A spokesperson told Nielsen their water and juice lines are outselling their traditional pop lines.
In the new Edgeworth Centre, they are working on adding healthier choices to the menu, although they haven’t come up with definite choices.
Even at their existing facilities he admitted it will be a lot of trial and error before they can meet demands.
Trial and error
“They’ll be some feeling out and I’m sure they get requests at the window,” Nielsen commented. “We’re not going to force them to serve certain foods, rather we’ll work with them to create a

For those of you who have not heard of the world’s first economic network……I’d like to introduce you to AGLOCO! A groundbreaking way to make money by searching the internet with absolutely ZERO financial investment
Similar to social networking sites which are all the rage, (Myspace, Facebook, Tagged etc) Agloco is the first in the economic sphere. The idea is to take the billions of dollars in revenue that are generated by our online activity and put that money back into our (the users) hands. Their slogan is “Own the Internet!” The site is still in “beta” so now is a perfect time to join.
Here is the simplest explanation of how it works:
1) Sign up at http://www.agloco.com/r/BBFB7565 (it’s absolutely free and literally takes less than 1 minute)
2) Download the viewbar and keep it open on your computer screen so that you can get paid
3) Tell other people (you will earn money from their online time also)
Some of you are probably saying “Oh, so it’s just a network marketing thing!” Well, no it isn’t. There is NO investment and there is NOTHING to sell. Those 3 points are literally how simple it is. There is no catch! I thought it was very cool, so I signed up
If you are still skeptical, check out the Agloco development team here
These people have been developing this thing for over 1 year now and have not earned a cent out of it yet. That told me something about their character and vision for this!
Here is a page from their site for more information on how it works:

Wow, I had the most incredible thought the other day! Here it is:
Everything we do in our lives is in some way an effort to make our time on earth better.
Think about that! We NEVER wake up in the morning and say to ourselves, “Well, here’s another day, I wonder what I can do today to make today miserable.” It’s ALWAYS ways that we want to enhance our existence. From the moment we realize we are awake until our last conscious breath at night we make decisions like, “Hmm, which cereal would I like best this morning, or what water temperature feels most comfortable to me, or which combination of clothes looks and feels best and on and on and on! If you really think about this and how it applies to your own life it’s really quite amazing! I should also mention that sometimes we realize we need to go through discomfort in order to achieve a goal we set for ourselves. For example, in exercise sometimes it can get pretty painful but we do it because we know that if we toil through the pain, we will achieve a result that makes us look and feel better about ourselves which enhances our lives. So many times though, we subconsciously do things to shoot our legs out from under ourselves and undermine our own efforts. I guess the best way to say this is just to say that, “We reap what we sow…..” and “What goes around comes around….” In other words, the Golden Rule! People treat us the way we treat them. You can even think of it in this way – in most cases, you only receive emails from people whom you take the time to write yourself, right? Like the Bible says, “To have friends one must show himself to be friendly.” We have to take the initative and what we put out recriprocates and comes back to us like a boomerang! So, if we want someone to treat us with more respect but we are constantly cutting down other people with our attitudes, more than likely, we are going to get treated the same way. It becomes a vicious cycle and the only way to break it is with doing the exact opposite and treating that person how you’d like to be treated and they will begin to treat you the same way. It is very counter-intuitive but it’s an amazing testament to how radical the teachings of Jesus are and yet how we can use them everyday to relate to people to make our lives and the lives of those around us better. Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return. And your reward shall be great, and you shall be the sons of the Highest. For He is kind to the unthankful and to the evil. Luke 6:36 Therefore be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. Luke 6:37 Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you shall be forgiven. Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given to you, good measure pressed down and shaken together and running over, they shall give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you measure, it shall be measured to you again.

Have you ever heard someone refer to someone with a good attitude or great laugh and say that it is contagious? Well it is! Even more than that though, is that humans in general are contagious! Good or bad attitude, it is contagious. There are always those people in our lives who sort of lure us in to become like them. We feel like we have to be negative and sour around them or we don’t fit in. Or we feel and act much happier around others. And then there are the people whom everyone enjoys spending time with, which are the ones where we can just be ourselves. It is said that we become the average of the personalities of the 5 people we spend the most time with. But what if we used a positive perspective and joyful outlook to influence those 5 people? Their demeanor would become more pleasant which would in turn help us to become even more so, which would elevate and improve our lives and our friends’ as well!
